Does the job

I’m a new rider and haven’t used it much but the design seems solid for my gravel bike and it keeps the bottle in place.

Hard to use

I don’t find it very easy to get the bottle in and out of the cage. I prefer my older bottle holder where you push the bottle in from the top.

Zee cage

Suitable for lefties on the downtube, or right handed release on the seat tube. Have these fitted on my road and mountain bikes. Bottle retention is superb for mountain biking, it's the only cage I'd use now.

Awesome for Rockhopper and Sirrus X 4.0

I put these on my Rockhopper Expert and liked them so much I put them on my Sirrus X 4.0 as well. Super light with a tight grip, no worries of losing a bottle. I’ve added the discontinued MTB Swat Tool Box to the Rockhopper. Highly recommended. Great price when on sale too!

An excellent bottle holder that

An excellent bottle holder that will also hold the extended battery for the Vado eBike. The holder has enough flex to accommodate slightly wider bottles and will not scratch your bottles. This design also grips bottles better than designs by other brands. However, it is too wide for the standard 16.9 fl oz Poland Spring bottles.

Tight fit and Screws stop bottles.

The mounting screw heads protrude into the bottle area and cause the bottle to stop at the screw head. The mounting bracket needs to be recessed to keep the screw heads behind the cage frame. The cage is also awkward to get the bottle into smoothly.

Lefty cage should be standard on Stumpy

Both righty & lefty cages are of superb quality and function perfectly. I feel the left cage should be the standard issue on the stumpy because it works better with that frame geometry providing easier access to the water bottle.

They hold exceedingly well!

I recently added a Wolf Tooth BRAD system to my Pivot Mach 429 Trail Carbon and went with the dual bottle adapters which have the cages sitting side by side. I needed cages that had side access so I purchased the L and R Zee Cage II in the basic version, not the carbon. On my first outing I was amazed at how strongly they held both of my full Camelbak Podium Dirt 21oz bottles while riding hard on a pump track. Then, through 3 miles of very technical trails. It wasn't until I did something stupid off a 4 foot high ramp which caused me to go over the handlebars that 1 and only 1 bottle popped out! The cage was safe and did not crack. After the stars cleared and I could sit up again, I popped the bottle back in and it held perfectly the rest of the ride. My friends were so impressed with these cages that now they're copying my set-up!

Most reliable bottle holder yet

Holds classic water bottles as shown in Specialize images. Better, it holds single use beverage bottles securely, too. Rather than tolerate the plastic taste from PE bottles, I prefer to re-use PET bottles that held teas or filtered ""spring"" waters. Wish I could attach a photo of my Turbo Creo SL with two Zee-II cages holding a tea and a spring water bottle. I gave one of my cages to a friend during our ride over a very rough road her after her classic-style cage dropped her water bottle. I have/had one right and one left, which allows me to use my left hand to access both cages. Replacing the Right-oriented cage now.

No issues at all thus far with this cage. Seems to be sturdy. Switched over from zee cage I. Which constantly broke.

Problem solved

Purchased for grandchildren's road bikes. Needed side loading because top loading wouldn't work on the small bike frames. Work as intended. Color matches their Specialized bikes.

Bottle scratcher

Ruined all of my black purist bottles just from a few insertions and removals. Stiff, too hard to load – very awkward sideways approach. Maybe this level of tightness is needed for hard mountain biking, but these really are not useful for road biking. Disappointed that something with the Specialized name could be so poorly conceived.
