The difference

These tires are the difference between replacing inner tubes several times a year and forgetting to check tire pressure because its been years since you've even thought about getting a flat. I used to have flats from goatheads after almost every trip I took. I had a patch kit and a spare inner tube. I used everything I could to try and prevent and treat flats until one summer my bike shop told me about armadillo tires. I saved up my allowance and bought the tires because I heard the words "kevlar" and I was a 14 year old. That was 16 years ago. This isn't an exaggeration or a lie. I have not had a flat tire since. I replaced MY BIKE before I replaced those tires. I probably could have used the old tires if I hadn't gone up a size. I have left my bike hanging in garage for 2 years and the tires still had good pressure. I don't recommend armadillo tires. I let people know they are missing armadillo tires.

Great tire

These are on my Tero 5 ebike. They ride fast, grip when turning, and strong. Perfect for running on dirt roads and rail trails.

Over-engineered tires

These tires are, without a doubt, over-engineered. This makes them quite heavy, when compared with similar profiled tires. This is, however, just about the only con. This things are so ridiculously tough that I've plucked cactus thorns, carpentering nails, and thorns from them over the past month of commuting and trail riding, all without full puncture. I'm using the self-sealing inner tubes from Specialized as well, but I've yet to test anything other than the fact they hold air, because simply nothing's made it passed the Armadillo tires. Fantastic.

Great Tire!

I use these primarily on sidewalk/pavement, but also gravel trails. Much easier rolling than my previous knobby tires and I have no issues going through grass and mud if needed. Happy with the purchase!

Heavy, but tough

If you are really worried about weight, this might not be the tire for you. But if you, say, ride an already heavy e-bike that can assist you, and is prone to rear tire flats, this is great. Plenty efficient on pavement, with some grip for gravel, it's got a lot of protection.
