Solid piece of gear ... but not for me.

These bibs arrived quickly and fit to size, but I ultimately decided to return them. PROS: felt very well made, sturdy fabric and stitching, and the lower back support was the best I've felt in bibs. Overall the fit was superb, and the chamois was comfortable and well situated to the body. The ankle zips are always helpful. I'd imagine the fabric would hold up well in cold temps. CONS: The fabric is so thick it felt as if I were wearing a scuba wetsuit. The shoulder straps connect in the back (mid-back), so if you plan to snap them off to use the restroom, It would be challenging to reconnect it without help. SUMMERY: If you're looking for a sturdy bib to use in cold to freezing temps, this may be right for you. I only plan to bike down into the 30-40sF, away from ice conditions, so I needed a more breathable pair. Also, being an amateur rider I wanted to move more freely while walking. I feel these Specialized pair would be an upgrade down the road if my interest increases.
