Tire failed at stem after 35 miles on good paved road. Only Specialized tire I have used to have been sub-par. clincher equivalent quite good.
While descending my rear tire popped and I barely survived. It was the side wall bead that failed, this was the 3rd ride on this tire. The worst I have ever used. I used the cotton tires before and they were definitely less reliable than GP5K, but I didnt expect this so bad. I would like to get my money back, as I also changed my front tire now - completely lost trust on these tires. 200$ down the drain.
I have had 2 sets. Not only fast, but comfortable as well. Ridden well over 2k miles on each set with only 1 flat on each set. I do, however, ride on pretty decent road conditions, ie, not a lot of city or construction debris.
Great products.
If you want really fast tires for your racing endeavors then go for it, but I have not had a single turbo cotton that didn’t delaminate at the bead causing a bulge and eventually a blowout in under 800 miles.
I've had 3 sets and they are awesome. The only time I've ever flatted was on a terrible stretch of road where metal shards pierced my tire. They handle great, roll fast, and have been very reliable. I wish they came in a 30 or 32.
Great tyre looks good feels great on the road only issue was got a puncture on first ride but that can happen to anyone
Excellent tires
These are solid tires, not only do they look good but they perform. Comfortable, fast, grips road well for great handling and overall just great. I would recommend these.
excellent ride, size, grip, and fit. i have tried many tires and this is the best on offer.
Tire sidewall blew out at the bead after less than 100 miles on country roads. Luckily I was on the flat. Dollar bill trick got me home. Ran them on Enve SES 5.6 clinchers. Enve sounded the alarm about these types of tires back in 2019 so shame on me. As far as I'm concerned, no-one should be running these. They look great on the bike, but are extremely unsafe.
Picked these up to put on my Tarmac SL7 Comp. They’re a great upgrade over the alloy wheels it comes with. I didn’t want to spend the extra money on the CLIIs plus I prefer the look of a slightly shallower dish. I also like that they’re a bit more of an all-rounder when riding the questionably-paved streets of Chicago.
They are fast and high performing until you flat. These are absolutely not for normal riding. They flat extremely easily. They seemingly have no puncture resistance at all. Came as stock on my expensive new Specialized bike. Flats on every single ride. Found a cut through the tire. Bought a replacement. More cuts, more flats. Replaced with a top end tire from a different manufacturer.
great
grips well in all weather conditions so far so good
Great feel for changeable road surfaces.
Awesome ride quality, very fast rolling. Confident grip in corners. 1000km so far and wearing well. Cotton tyres always look good.
I must admit I bought these tires mostly for the gum wall look. It makes my carbon grey bike POP just a bit more. I have about 300mikes on them now and can say I like them very much. They have a very nice ride and “believe them to have good performance.
Wow, oh wow, can't think of a better upgrade for dollars spent on my Rubaix. Took these out for the first ride and they are noticeably faster and more comfortable on the asphalt. Gave me confidence to descend faster. Actually shaved twenty minutes, yes minutes from a 30 mile ride I did last week on my old tires. Not bad getting on, yes used a tire lever but install was pretty easy.
These are the best tires I’ve had over the last eight years of cycling (at 6000 road miles per year). The original set that came on my S-Works Roubaix lasted for 6497 miles without a single puncture, and that’s on shoulder-less pothole strewn Massachusetts roads!! Outstanding product!
These tires are great looking and relatively light, but a bear to get on Hell of the North is a good name, use tire levers.
Excellent tires and very comfortable
Love these tyres. I run them on both my aethos and tarmac and unlike the standard cottons these seem to have quite a bit more puncture resistance. It’s the only true I run!
Basically a perfect tire. Supple and fast
This is hands down the best road (non-tubeless) tire that Specialized makes. The cornering grip, rolling speed and suppleness are a real treat. Not the most durable tire, but that's not why I bought it.
Rear tyre wore out after 2500km on average rough tarmac. No flats though. It's a fast rolling set of tires but the lack of grip when braking disappointed me more than once. Locked up the rear tyre on damp/slightly wet surface three times which made me loose confidence in this pair. Been riding GP4000's for years and have come to expect better grip and longevity than this.
I love this tire. I've ridden on many rough roads and these are as smooth and as tough as they get. They are bit bullet proof, glass with cut them, but they are a great combination of durability/toughness and comfort. They are also easy to mount. I hate the thought of trying anything else.
Lasted 60km on silky smooth roads before it got a cut. Told it was due to glass & refused warranty. I'd like to see these do 1km of cobblestones! $140 down the drain.
I ride road on a S-Works Roubaix. I push hard and sometimes on lousy roads in New Jersey versus great roads in Florida. So given my hard pace and the mixed roads, the rear tire always gets more abuse than the front. This replaced the same tire where the cotton side wall started separating at 1,100 miles. Front tire is doing better but I estimate it at 1,500 miles. These tires are light, fast and do have a great smooth comfortable ride.
