In order to bring EVO fun to the masses, we took our FACT 11m carbon frame (yes, the same one as the S-Works), dressed it with a bullet-proof Shimano SLX 12-speed drivetrain and a tough as nails set of alloy wheels, and set it loose to shred unsuspecting trails everywhere.

  • All the travel in the world is useless without the proper shock tuning and kinematics. For the new Stumpjumper EVO design, we prioritized kinematic performance. Applying lessons learned while developing the Enduro, then following that with more than 1,000 hours of field and suspension lab development, we’ve not only improved the pedaling performance of the Stumpjumper, but we’ve made it more capable, agile, and lively. We increased anti-squat, so the suspension better resists pedal bob, and we further improved bump performance on square-edge hits. Bottom line? This thing shreds trails, not legs.

  • The S-Sizing geometry of the new Stumpjumper EVO is our most progressive yet. Long, low, slack, short offset fork, steeper seat tube angle – these are requirements for modern progressive riding. But not everyone jibs the same way, which is why the geo on the new Stumpjumper EVO is fully adjustable with six different settings. You can adjust the BB height by 10mm, you can adjust your head angle by two-degrees, and you can make these adjustments independently of each other. Finally, if you want to go full-party mullet-mode, the EVO lets you run a 27.5-inch rear wheel mated with a 29-inch front.

  • Rider-First Engineered™ frames use a size-specific approach to ride characteristics that ensures benchmark handling and flawless performance, regardless of frame or rider size. Whether you’re a jump-happy grom riding an S1, or a DH-fiend giant in need of the lengthy S6, you’ll experience the same ride traits – rail-sharp cornering and balanced front and rear stiffness – at the lightest-possible weight.

  • We introduced the SWAT™ door on the Stumpjumper in 2016, adding room IN your frame for those “oh sh**t” necessities like pumps and spare tubes, and immediately rendering jersey pockets redundant. With the new Stumpjumper, we have increased the volume and added a SWAT™ Bladder, giving you an extra 22oz of water storage – the same size as a small water bottle – hidden in your downtube.

Amazing Bike

In April 2022 I purchased my first mountain bike, this Stumpie Evo Comp and it has not disappointed. I've swapped out some components to personalize it, but the geometry and performance of the bike is amazing. I do a fitness trail/cross country ride once a week, and it's light and efficient enough to keep up with other trail and cross country bikes. On the weekends, I use the bike for some SoCal black/double blacks with drops, rock gardens, and several other features- and this bike works through it all with no issues. This bike is such a versatile machine, and I'd highly recommend it. Super happy I went with this EVO

This Bike Rocks

This is a little follow up on my review that I just did and noticed I only had 4 stars listed for my rating, I wanted to correct that as best as I can, so I am providing a follow up review with the 5 star rating.

Perfect MTB bike. Period.

After extensive research, I've decided that Stumpjumper EVO is the bike to get. Having some luck on my side and getting my hands on Comp version, after months of owning it, all I can say is that this bike is a stellar performer. It will handle the roughest of challenges but will also pedal extremely well. I've never ridden a MTB—and I've had few—that pedals so well sitting or standing up. In particular, I love the steeper STA because it puts you in a good position when climbing. SWAT storage is a big plus, threaded BB and so many geo adjustments, low standover height, etc. This bike is unmatched and it also looks great. Specialized, you've done an extraordinary thing with this bike. Congrats!

A Complete All Mountain Shredder

About two weeks ago I walked into my local Specialized bike shop and was fortunate enough to purchase the Specialized Stumpjumper EVO Comp, Satin Black, SLX groupset. I barely had to sit on it and ride it around outside to know that this machine was everything it appeared to be and I could not wait to get it on the local black diamond trail near my home. I rode it once with the stock build and it handled exquisitely on the technical, fast, and choppy descent and climbed the monster mountain very well for a rowdy all mountain shredder. The bike launches and lands with confidence; gobbles up the chunder like it is not even there, furthermore, the stopping power of the quadpiston SLX brakes matched up to the mammoth 203 rotors gives the bike all the stopping power necessary. Today I pushed this machine pretty hard on a decent black diamond 1.4 mile descent and it did not flinch, the build is dialed in. I can not say enough how pleased I am with the hard work the Specialized team did on getting this Stumpjumper EVO so perfectly balanced and it fits the style of riding I do. I have about a dozen rides on it so far and have yet to feel any area that this bike is lacking in fact it inspires confidence and I recommend this bike.

Such a sweet ride!!

This is the perfect bike for me. Honestly I was in the market for the regular stumpjumper, but my LBS had an S5 EVO in stock at the right time so I jumped on it. After the first couple rides I was hooked, even the clay color has grown on me. Coming from a 2019 Comp Carbon, I never felt like I was in a good climbing position, my weight was way too far behind the pedals and it felt like I was dragging my weight up the mountain, not to mention the short reach. The new EVO has much better climbing position and anti-squat allowing me to complete technical climbs that I wasn't able to previously, or gets me there with energy to spare. I don't even have to talk about descending, the bike is so confidence inspiring. My only nitpick about the comp is the Shimano hubs, they are heavy and the Shimano rear hub engagement isn't horrible, but would prefer a DT Swiss that at least has the 54T upgrade option. Otherwise, no changes other than tubeless setup needed!! This bike is MTB engineering/design done right.

Best Bike I've ever ridden

I had ridden the 2019 stumpy evo, a friend's bike, for a while and had thought that it was one of the best bikes to ever come. This is even crazier, even after riding a ton of other full sus this one outperforms every other bike. It is suprisingly flicky for getting around trees and such, but as soon as you hit a slightly more open area it becomes so incredibly stable. I had ridden a hardtail pretty religiously up until now, only riding full sus for larger jumps and drops, and was worried that I would have a much harder time climbing with how low and slack it is, it climbs better than my hardtail. The SWAT was the largest thing for me, moving from having to ride with a pack for anything over 5-10 miles, to being able to do 15-20 without even a hip pack, great design.

Couldn't be happier

Owned for 3 weeks now and already put 100 hard trail miles on it. I demo'd several high end bikes before pulling the trigger on this one. You can't beat the value and can easily upgrade (I put a carbon bar on it so far). I got the gloss grey color which looks mauve in some lights (don't love that but it's growing on me). Bike does technical climbs better than anything I've tried thus far. Suspension feels progressive and I've yet to bottom out on jumps this far. I'm so happy with this purchase and look forward to every time I can take it out.

Awesome!

Coming from a alloy ST, this is an awesome upgrade. I was a little uncertain able the slack HA but WOW it climbs better than my ST and descents are amazing. So much more squish it's an absolute blast to ride, anywhere. Love my new stumpy EVO!

Seriously Impressive

Just took delivery of this thing, have not ridden yet, but am seriously impressed. I wanted the Clay, but due to Covid I was pretty lucky to get one at all in my size (S5) - the shop guys at my high-volume dealer had only seen the S-Works come through, and only briefly. The Matte Black is SUPER clean, and the dark grey decals are sharp but blend pretty well into the stealthy look. Worth noting that mine came with 203 f/r rotors instead of the 203/180 described - a definite score. I'm incredibly impressed with the SWAT system - you get the side-loading cage/platform with the mini multi-tool, which opens into the frame to reveal a 6"" storage sleeve and a 22 oz water sack. RIP hip packs. This bike is an INSANE value for $4100, especially when you consider that it has the same frame as the S-WORKS. If we're being incredibly picky, the wheelset is a bit heavy (albeit bombproof), and the seatpost seems like it could be spec'd longer (I measured maybe 31cm possible insertion on my S5, which would fit a OneUp v2 210mm slammed to the collar, please don't quote me on this). I'll be building some i9 hydra wheels and swapping on a matching stem and OneUp carbon bars with my preferred grips and saddle, as well as switching the SLX shifter for an XT shifter for that sweet, sweet multi-downshift, but other than that, this bike is ready to rip out of the box. A crazy value when you consider the Ripmo v2 with the same spec is $1100 more. Buy one if you can get one.

Amazing trail bike with serious downhill capability.

I'll try not to sound too much like a company product description, but everything said about this bike is pretty much true, and I read just about every review I could find before buying it. I am 6'1"" and have an S4 which fits me perfectly. Initially I was a bit worried that this might be too much bike for moderate to aggressive trail riding but that is not the case at all! this bike climbs better than any trail bike I have had in the past, which have all been Stumpjumpers since 1996. The bike is nimble, handles so well in all types of terrain, and is super responsive. On the descents it is mighty fast and just makes you forget about the brakes! Seriously, the traction and stability are insanely good. I wish I could think of a negative but I really can't, maybe just a touch more reach on the S4 would be nice but that can be adjusted. Also, the all SLX componentry is so sweet and I really can't tell the difference from my XT components on the old Stumpy. If you are debating between the Stumpy and Stumpy EVO and want to take on bigger and steeper stuff while compromising nothing in trail performance then this is THE BIKE. I absolutely love it!
