Cross-country racing. It’s in our blood, an obsession. We won the very first UCI Mountain Bike World Championship in 1990 with Ned Overend and Jaroslav Kulhavy rode his Epic to Olympic Gold in 2012. Our rich history includes multiple world titles, countless World Cup victories, and a million backyard KOMs. In 2021, we’re looking forward to building on that storied history with what may be our strongest Specialized Factory Racing line up ever.
It’s athletes like these that have always inspired our engineers and designers to push limits, to create FSR and Brain technology, and deliver the fastest race bikes on the planet. “Specialized Factory Racing is and has always been an integral part of product development at Specialized. There is no doubt that the energy and excitement around the 2021 team roster will motivate and inspire us to push the limits of product innovation in every aspect,” says Epic Product Manager, Brian Gordon. This is what we mean when we say Innovate or Die.
Joining Jordan and Geri are two of the most talented young riders in the world, with plenty of their own time in rainbow stripes—23-year-old former U23 World Champion Sina Frei, and 20-year-old Laura Stigger, a former junior World Champ.
Both Laura and Sina have big goals on the race course this season, they’ll be chasing World Cup podiums with an eye on the Olympics in Tokyo, and we’re proud to have the opportunity to support them.
2021 will be a new chapter in Specialized’s long history of cross-country racing and we look forward to telling the story of these amazing athletes all season long. They’ll be racing at the front and we’ll be busy making the bikes and equipment that help them get there. Together we win.
