Future Shock 3.3 and 3.2

Future Shock 3.3 and 3.2

Future Shock 3.3 compression can be adjusted on the fly from soft to firm. Compression on Future Shock 3.2 cannot be adjusted while riding—it’s pre-set to the smoothest ride. Both shock springs and preload can easily be tuned by the rider prior to riding.

Tunability

Tunability

Riders can tune how Future Shock 3.3 and 3.2 react to bumps based on their terrain and riding style. Three different springs are offered - firm, medium, and soft - and up to five preload washers can be used, all easily adjusted at home. If you can remove a stem, you can dial in a Future Shock.

Durability

Durability

Roubaix was born for Northern Europe’s challenging roads and rough weather, so we made Future Shock 3.0 our most durable yet. We’ve increased the boot’s thickness and added more seals to keep water and contamination out of the system.

SMOOTHER. FASTER. MORE CONFIDENT Future Shock debuted back in 2016 and promptly proved its effectiveness by winning the 2018 and 2019 Paris-Roubaix. Sitting between the stem and head tube, it provides travel in the exact opposite direction of bump forces hitting the wheel and traveling up the fork legs. The result is an impact and vibration reduction of more than 50% vs our nearest competitors across impacts typically experienced by road riders. The result is more control to ride faster with more confidence on challenging road surfaces.

For the first time, the new Future Shock 3.0 can be easily tuned so every rider - regardless of position on the bike - can get 20mm of smooth, stiction free travel. Compared to the previous generation, we’ve improved the overall durability, and made Future Shock 3.0 totally serviceable.

  • TUNABILITY: The way Future Shock 3.0 reacts to bumps can be precisely tuned for the individual rider and the type of terrain they face. Three different springs are offered - firm, medium, soft - and with each of those springs, up to five preload washers - can be used. Need it firm for an aggressive position and big cobbles like our pros? Or maybe you ride in a relaxed position and want to it feel nice and soft to eat up high frequency vibration or chip seal. Your setup can easily be tweaked at home in a matter of minutes. If you can remove a stem, you can dial in a Future Shock 3.0.

  • ADJUSTABILITY: As much as you can tune Future Shock 3.0, there are still times where you will want firmer or softer settings on the same ride. Smooth climb up? Keep it stiff. Rough descent down? Open it up. The 3.3 model delivers the most in the saddle adjustability of compression than ever.

  • FUTURE SHOCK 3.3: Hydraulically damped to control the movement of the Future Shock, not only for a smoother ride, but a more controlled ride. Highly tunable for the individual, riders can adjust pre-load to their desired firmness for their unique position or the terrain they are riding. Compression his highly adjustable during the ride to ensure that riders can set their Future Shock for the surface or the situation.

it is not the suspension

I believe what ever suspension we use does not meter what is important is what we have on the wheels the bigger , the softer the better I Ride Robouix with FS 2.0 and conti 32 tubeless pressure 60 psi today after 7500 km first small puncture for New Brunswick roads not too bad so get bigger and softer tires and enjoy the ride I still have to straggle with my rides but preferer my comfort I might race here and there but most important not to sufferer on the ride

Upgraded my 2019 Diverge 1.5 Future Shock

Amazing! upgrade for my 2019 Diverge. I put it off for many years accepting the negatives of the 1.5 FS, mainly the noise and not having the ability to adjust the compression. Installed this 3.3 FS and it has transformed the bike making it feel like a new bike. The dial to adjust the compression on the fly is a game changer. I highly recommend this upgrade even though the price seems high, but really if you compare that to a suspension fork upgrade on a MTB this seems less expensive. Ride on!

Meh

Bought an upgrade from the 1.5 to the 3.0. Agree with the other reviewer that there isn’t as much bounce in the 3.3. I have the yellow spring in and it still feels too stiff. The dial cap came off on my initial ride. I reinstalled it with a pocket tool. Apparently I righted too tight and crushed the piece underneath. I can’t just buy a new part. LBS says I have to purchase and entire $400 unit again. Should have stuck with the 1.5.

Much Harsher Ride Than Than Advertised -Disapointed

I bought into the hype and purchased this kit as an upgrade for my 2021 Roubaix that came with Future Shock 1.5. I have a damaged elbow, so any improvement in shock absorption I could attain was worth the $400 investment. Rather than improved shock absorption, I got the opposite - a much rougher ride. I weigh 190 pounds and even with the softest spring, the ride feels like my previous bike which had no suspension- no matter what damping I dail to. I believe the problem stems from the swappable springs they include with this kit - they are much heavier than those that came with Future Shock 1.5. The diameter of the spring coils has to be five times as thick. I am probably going to uninstall this kit and reinstall the FS 1.5 cartridge. Specialized need to offer softer springs for this kit to fix the problem.
